We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, eager to learn, has excellent attention to detail and be keen to lay roots within a company that would progress their career. We have an exciting position available within our Payroll team for a dynamic individual to fulfil and make their own. It is a varied role in which the right candidate will be responsible for a number of tasks within the payroll function, including the implementation of new processes if required. This role is an excellent opportunity to start a career within a finance team of a large global company who are growing year on year.

Main Responsibilities:

The delivery of an in-house payroll service by ensuring the day-to-day completion of all tasks required.
Working closely with internal stakeholders in delivering an exemplary level of customer service at all times.
Preparing and processing the monthly payroll on a high volume basis, ensuring that staff are paid on time and receive the correct payments.
Liaising with HR to ensure that new starters provide a form P45 or Starter Checklist form and ensuring relevant Tax codes and previous earnings are correctly entered onto the payroll system.
Maintain employee pay rates, payment methods, earnings and deductions pay elements and statutory information data within the Payroll / HR system.
Issue P45 forms to leavers and if appropriate process payments after leaving.
Assisting with the completion of National Statistics returns on a monthly basis.
General administration and filing of documentation in accordance with Data Protection Regulations.

Essential Criteria:

You must be able to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information in a mature and professional manner and in line with the provisions of the Data Protection Act.
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships both internally and externally at all levels with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work under pressure and meet conflicting, varied and demanding deadlines.
High level of attention to detail and ensuring quality outputs in all work, with the confidence to question things if they don't look right.
Maintain excellent organisational skills and effective prioritisation of tasks.
Be willing to learn with a positive 'can-do' attitude and have the confidence to question or challenge data or processes.
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, for all levels of authority.
Ability to work in a proactive manner without high levels of supervision.
Must be computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Excel and knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.

Desirable Criteria:

Preferably you will have some payroll experience operating at payroll clerk/administrator level within a similar environment although not essential.
Previous experience using payroll and financial accounting systems is desirable. Preferably Northgate Arinso Resourcelink and NAV Accounting, however, full training will be given.
