Heart Healthcare are currently accepting applications for a Clinical Services Manager in a well-respected private hospital in Birmingham.
Hours: 37.5 per week
No late nights or Sundays!
Salary: £49k- £56k per year
Purpose of Post
The Clinical Services Manager will lead, direct and motivate the clinical team as well as support the Hospital / Regional Director in the day to day running, management and development of the hospital.As well as leading the team, the job holder will be required where possible to participate within the team as required (50-70% of the role), both within the theatre in providing scrub assistance in clinical/operative procedures or within the pre/post-op areas, consenting and discharging patients.
In addition, the job holder will be responsible for the planning of patient centred healthcare; using clinical decision making that is in-line with relevant regulatory body guidance and CQC outcome requirements, where appropriate ensuring there is an emphasis on excellence.
Main Duties and Responsibilities·Promote a cost effective, patient focused quality service for the continuing success of the hospital·Lead and implement the hospital’s clinical strategy and provide support and input to the hospital’s overall business strategy, consistent with corporate direction·Deputise for the Hospital Director in their absence·Set and maintain clinical practice standards within the hospitals Governance and Regulatory framework·Develop and share evidence based clinical practice·Provide, receive and manage complex, sensitive or contentious information·Develop own knowledge and practice and facilitate continual professional development amongst others·Develop a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety and security·Develop strategies and policies for service improvement in collaboration with Hospital Director and Patient Services Manager·To maintain an out of hours clinical emergency service for quality standards and continuity of care·To be responsible for co-ordination of monthly clinical team meeting, daily communication huddles, and weekly planning meeting·Maintain quality to agreed standards within the operating model·To manage the clinical environment and co-ordinate the safe delivery of care, providing hands on clinical care to patients as and when required·Promote and influence a culture that actively supports safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children·Work in partnership with the Hospital Director, Patient Services Manager and consultants to achieve Annual Operating Plan delivering the hospital clinical strategy·Act as Lead Nurse for safeguarding·Act as the Lead Nurse for Infection Prevention and Control for the hospital (DIPC)
About you·Registered Nurse (RGN) with scrub experience·Good Computer and IT skills i.e. Ability to use Outlook, Word and Excel effectively·Understanding of the role of CQC·Evidence of ongoing professional development·Teaching Qualification eg 998, or mentorship·Minimum Band 8a Nursing level·Laser Safety Certificate (preferred, not essential)
