We’re on the look-out for a new team member with the gifts, passion and digital know-how to help CPAS take a big step forward in our use of social media, video and other online marketing activities. We’ll also need you to be able to think strategically, plan well and deliver effectively across new media and through more traditional channels.

Overview of Role

Job Purpose

Develop and deliver an effective marketing plan for all CPAS events and resources, including Venture and Falcon holidays.

Core Tasks


Develop a digital marketing strategy for CPAS, including social media, video and online advertising.
Develop and deliver an annual multi-channel marketing plan for Venture and Falcon holidays, to various audiences, including young people, parents and church leaders.
Create marketing plans for new product launches.
Develop and deliver marketing plans for existing CPAS resources, including Growing Leaders, Mentoring Matters, PCC Tonight, and others.
Develop the marketing of CPAS training events and conferences.
Maximise the opportunities for CPAS to exhibit at relevant national/regional conferences and festivals.
Develop an extended range of promotional resources to be used by the volunteer leaders of Venture and Falcon holidays.
Brief creative agencies and other suppliers to support the delivery of marketing projects.
Ensure all marketing material complies with the CPAS brand guidelines.


Requirements for Role

Knowledge and Skills (required)


Specific experience of delivering effective marketing materials for a range of activities/channels.
A strong understanding of digital marketing, including social media, video and online advertising.
The ability to understand a range of audiences and develop effective plans to engage with them.
Is creative, comes up with ideas/solutions and is effective in follow-up.
A strategic thinker and collaborator who can analyse, consult and plan ahead well.
Can work on their own initiative, meeting objectives and deadlines under pressure.
Experience of managing a variety of suppliers such as creative agencies, printers and mailing houses.
A  good level of IT competence, including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes.
Excellent attention to detail.


Knowledge and Skills (preferable)


At least two years’ experience of creating and delivering effective marketing plans in a similar role.
Recent experience of working in the charitable sector.
Some understanding of evangelical churches, ideally within the Church of England.
Experience of managing an organisation's presence at public events or exhibitions.
Some knowledge about the work of other Christian charities or mission agencies.
An accredited marketing qualification (e.g. CIM).


Accountability and Management

The role is line-managed by the Communications and Fundraising Manager. Marketing plans will need to be developed in partnership with other senior staff, including the Ventures and Falcons Principal.

Travel

Occasional travelling around the UK will be required by the post-holder, including exhibiting at conferences and festivals (some residential, with camping accommodation).

Motivated by the aims and objectives of CPAS’ work, the post-holder will be committed to high standards of customer service, efficient delivery and clear communication. He or she will enjoy working in a collaborative environment.

Christian Faith

CPAS is a Christian agency, working to support churches across the UK and Republic of Ireland. It is therefore important that the post holder has a committed personal faith, is an active member of a local church and is in agreement with the CPAS basis of faith (see the CPAS website).

Terms and Conditions

1. Christian faith: as a Christian organisation, with a focus on mission, some of our roles include a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) of an active Christian faith. Details of how this applies to this post are included in the role profile.

2. Location: the post is based at the CPAS offices at Sovereign Court One (Unit 3), University of Warwick Science Park, Coventry, CV4 7EZ.

3. Salary: £31,416

4. Contract: This is a permanent contract, subject to an initial three-month probationary period and the usual on-going CPAS appraisal process.

5. Expenses: all authorised expenses are reimbursed.

6. Hours of work: this is a full time appointment of 37 hours per week. A flexi-time system operates for this post.

7. Holiday: annual holidays are four weeks, plus all bank holidays.

8. Duration: to start as soon as possible.
