A world renowned Global Manufacturer of automotive components is looking to recruit a highly innovative, experienced and proactive Resident Engineer, to be predominantly based at their client site in Warwickshire.
Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will hold responsibility for day-to-day internal and external engineering based liaison on all project activities. Acting as the primary Engineering Representative, based within the Customer Engineering Centre, you will actively liaise with BIW Engineering Departments throughout the development process cycle, and provide an integrated service back to the program teams. You will spend 80-95% of your time on customer site, however, you will be expected to travel to support customer and company objectives.
You will provide support to R&D through concise communication of program data for the generation of concept designs and concern solutions. Showing an understanding of automotive OEM product development systems, you will also provide support to the programme management structure and gateway requirements.
In order to assist in concept/production ready design and development requirements, you will effectively liaise with the Manufacturing/Engineering Division; showing ability to manipulate, view and understand CAD data and engineering drawings. You will lead customer reviews throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with other team members, you will identify and action personal training needs and development.
In order to be considered for this role, you must be experienced in the development of BIW systems and components; ideally carrying an understanding of manufacturing techniques associated with product development (forging, bending, assembly, pressing, tooling and welding processes).
You must be degree qualified (or equivalent) in an appropriate Engineering discipline. Extensive knowledge of MS Software (Project, Excel, Word) is also required.
You will show experience of delivering major development programmes within time and budget constraints, with additional experience of project management and managing the programme delivery process. It is essential that you have a proven engineering background (ideally in BIW components).
