Your new School

A Green and Good Estyn rated school based in Powys with Pupils aged between 4 and 11 are looking to add to their existing teaching team to support the Year 5/6 class. This School has 5 mixed aged classes with over 100 pupils on site. Based in a beautiful setting this School would be a fantastic place to work where children are encouraged to learn through engaging, developing, innovating and expressing.

Your new role

Working with a Year 5/6 mixed class of 35+ supporting the teacher, by working with smaller groups and some children with ASD including Dyslexia. You will be using Big Maths and Abacus toolkits to work with the children supporting smaller groups of children through their learning including some children with School Action+. Dynamo will be introduced to the school from September so there is the opportunity to use this toolkit also. This is a small rural based primary school so the role will be dynamic and all-encompassing giving you the opportunity to take ownership and develop your skills.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally have CACHE Level 3 or similar qualification with experience working with Year 5 and Year 6 pupils in small groups helping with Literacy and Numeracy. You will be a dynamic individual who is happy to chip in and help in all of the classes. You will also need to be happy to take ownership and be proactive within the classroom. Experience working with Year 5 and Year 6 is essential for this role as knowledge of the curriculum at this level will be expected.

What you'll get in return This is a full time role expected to last for the duration of the school year. Due to the nature of the School you will be expected to be involved with a number of different activities working with some children with ASD. There will also be the opportunity to get involved with non-curricula activities such as the football club. This is a great role working in a rural primary school which can give you opportunities to develop your skills and experience.
