Internal Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer (Children & Families Transformation)


• Demonstrable experience in managing communications for change
• An understanding of project management principles/techniques and experience in supporting communications within and across projects
• Experience in internal communications and employee engagement during times of change
• Ability to work in partnership with and influence communications in organisations outside of your employer organisation
• Ability to translate complex issues into plain English that can be understood by the target audience
• Awareness of the Political nature of local authority and the impact this has on communications
• Using a range of communication methods and styles to ensure effective communication.
• Supporting the analysis and evaluation of campaigns.
• Ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
• To manage and prioritise own workload.
• To be able to manage conflicting demands and pressures
• Support the Senior Campaigns Officer in the development of a 3-month rolling communications plan that joins up a number of separate projects relating to children and families support and services
• Support the ongoing co-ordination of the communications plan to ensure it accurately reflects these projects as they are delivered
• Support the delivery of the communications plan to ensure messaging is agreed, consistent and shared in a timely way with key stakeholders across each project
• Represent the communications function in the Stakeholder Working Group to ensure key people across the Families and Communities Directorate are sighted on the communications plan and are supported to take the appropriate action as required
• Lead on the development of a quarterly partnership update targeting Staffordshire's children's workforce to ensure they are aware of changes across the system, to include collating content from partners, editing this content, distributing and evaluating it's effectiveness


• Educated to degree level, or equivalent level of relevant equivalent experience.

• A qualification from a relevant recognised professional body
