The Ideal Project Planning Engineer would have/do/be/hold experience in
• Providing planning support to schemes including preparation of tender schedules and submissions in collaboration with the Estimator, Design Engineers and Construction delivery team
• Planning support for Engineering, Procurement and Construction schemes, including weekly and monthly progress updates of contract schedules, critical path analysis, resource profiles, earned value reports, schedule narrative and production norm reports etc
• Depending on workload across business, planning support may be required in other areas of the business
• Ensure work activities are planned and controlled in accordance with all HSE policies and procedures
• Continual communication with the Project Manager and Project Engineers to monitor progress to ensure programme milestones/dates are met
• Analyse planning and control requirements for the programme of works, making recommendations for the most appropriate use of the planning package.
• In collaboration with colleagues, clients and project partners, produce breakdown structures, networks, schedules, critical path analysis, reports and any other project planning documentation needed
• Regularly update and monitor project progress, providing feedback to all stakeholders
• Carry out earned value analysis, providing feedback to project staff and managers
• Relevant industry experience in Engineering sector would be highly advantageous
• A minimum of HNC level in Commercial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience in using Primavera / Asta planning tools
• Strong management skills
• First class communication skills - both written and verbal
• Able to relate to both colleagues and clients -Proactive, flexible and prepared to undertake a variety of tasks
• Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project) and database experience
