An experienced web developer within the design and print industry. The successful applicant will join a well-established, industry leading publishing company with offices in London, Rugby and Oxford as they look to expand their digital product offering. As well as building, hosting and supporting a range of complex client websites, the company is now looking to branch out into cross-platform mobile applications. The role will be based in Rugby office but will liaise frequently with other members of the team in London. Some travel will be required on occasions to the other offices.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of the development platforms outlined below. You will be able to work autonomously and as part of a wider team, and will not be afraid to ask for help, or offer it, if needed. The role will require you to liaise with external clients and staff at other offices, often to gather requirements or provide support as necessary. Excellent communication skills-written and oral-are vital. The applicant should be forward-thinking and keen to learn new skills as needed to ensure that they are always able to offer the latest developments to customers. The client is looking for somebody who is enthusiastic and willing to contribute ideas and make suggestions. Training will, of course, be available to help you improve and advance wherever possible.
The core role will involve developing and maintaining websites and cross-platform mobile apps for a variety of customers, as well as occasionally working on a range of internal projects as needed. You will be involved at all stages of the production cycle, from initial specification, through to final delivery and subsequent maintenance. There will be a requirement to provide direct support to clients upon request. The ability to manage your time effectively and work to brief within agreed timescales is a must.
As a person you will need the following:
. ASP.NET (C#, MVC, web forms)
. CSS3
. JavaScript
. JQuery
. Angular.JS
. Razor

Knowledge of the following would also be beneficial:
. Umbraco CMS (knowledge of this would be useful)
. SQL Server
. Windows Server administration
. Xamarin
. MooTools
. An understanding of Android and/or iOS app development would also be beneficial, but not essential.
