A Database Administrator is now require for an instantly recognisable brand in Coventry. My client is about to embark on a very exciting time and have an exciting future ahead of them after receiving a GBP325million investment from their parent company.

The Database Administrator will be responsible for the supervision and operation of the organisation's ERP Epicor system, through implementation of best practices. Fundamentally, this covers the internal Epicor Systems administration and the administration of the Epicor Microsoft Database.

This includes:

- Installing

- Configuring

- Patching

- Upgrading

- Backup

- Restoration

- Security of users rights and permissions, with knowledge to support and develop BPM's, BAQ's and Microsoft SSRS reports while maintaining the company's investments in the chosen ERP technologies.

The Database Administrator will be required to be able to plan and coordinate the technical change management processes required to the support ERP systems, necessary for business operations. You will have proven communication and problem-solving skills to solve issues related to the deployment of mission-critical ERP software.

Database Administrator Critical Competencies and Duties:

• Technical Ability: ERP Systems Administration - Maintain ERP system reliability, installing, configuring, patching, upgrading the product, setting up test environments and restoring from backups. Administration and security of users rights and permissions, knowledge to support and develop Dashboards, BPM's, BAQ's, build SQL views, develop Microsoft SSRS reports and Crystal Reports. Capability to implement and customize system modules and solutions to meet business needs.

• Technical Ability: Database Administrator - Employee will monitor and maintain the Epicor DB, to ensure efficient data throughput, while ensuring daily and weekly backups are taken and validated, with a regular restore exercise.

• Personal Skills: The employee will have excellent listening, verbal and written skills in order to clearly exchange ideas with all stakeholders.

• Adaptability: Possess an ability to change current work plans in order to meet corporate aims. Incumbent will be required to work on special projects on occasion to increase the effectiveness of the IT Department. Provide project management support , for technical customisations and development work, with Epicor direct when if required.

• Relationship Building: Work with end users and outside application & technology providers to meet company IT goals.

• Initiative: Deliver and train users where changes are made to improve utilization of the system. Assist in system performance tests and upgrade process and document all standard work processes, e.g. Taking daily backup, restoring backups.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience: Direct experience administrating ERP applications, ideally Microsoft SQL based and Epicor.

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration and/or 8 years equivalent work experience. Certifications in ERP systems administration or equivalent work experience.

• Technical Ability: ERP Systems Administration, ideally Epicor V10. Microsoft SQL DB & SQL query experience. Ideal candidate will be able to write and publish SSRS reports.

• Travel: Limited travel is required to support multiple locations.
