Credit Controller - Electrical Manufacturer

Mon-Fri 40 hrs per week

£22.5k basic + Bonus

The Company: Major specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, manufactures and supplies products to residential, commercial and industrial markets.

The Role: To identify, assess and reduce any potential financial risk, in order to protect the company from bad debt exposure.


  • Ensure that customer debts are kept below stated target levels.
  • Actively chase monthly cash targets.
  • Work with / meet all necessary parties to resolve debt issues and eliminate bad debts.
  • Work with / meet all necessary parties to resolve customer complaints and debit note issues and to develop positive ongoing internal and external customer relations.
  • Undertake UK wide travel as required to achieve the above.
  • Adhere to strict monthly arrears process.
  • Pro-actively support 'month-end' Sales Ledger activities.
  • Complete and present regular management reports.
  • Make a positive contribution towards department workflow improvements.
  • Continue to streamline and align all credit control processes across UK sites.
  • Deputise for the Credit Manager when required.
  • Abide by the Companies Core Values and Code of Ethics and strive to meet and exceed the Group's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments.Person Specification:
  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach towards the business.
  • Highly experienced in credit control, credit risk and sales ledger.
  • Excellent understanding of the legal framework for the collection of debts.
  • A practical hands-on approach to problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Good face-to-face and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
  • To achieve set objectives and targets.
  • The ability to work within multifunctional teams, but also able to work effectively alone.
  • Holder of a valid UK driving licence.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word packages.
