The Role:

*Based in the 300-strong Design Team located at the company headquarters our client are seeking a Team Leader to take full charge of all aspects of homologation testing and approval.

*This is in part following their continued growth and diversity into more World markets, but also reflecting the rising challenges of ever more stringent safety and environmental legislation.

*The work is varied, challenging but interesting and will be truly rewarding for a person who thrives on a fast-paced environment, building relationships that will deliver ongoing success.

Key responsibilities

*Reporting to the Supervisor, Homologation, but leading a small but dedicated homologation team, the role will encompass:

*Responsibility for the cost-effective and timely execution of homologation projects in line with company targets.

*This work on all homologation projects will take place in the UK, Spain and in overseas markets where in-country testing is required, such as Brazil and India.

*Preparation, review and submission of accurate type approval information documents and post-approval reports.

*Maintenance of all homologation support systems such as the Certificate of Conformity database and Conformity of Production tracking, auditing and testing.

*Developing and maintaining professional working relationships with external agents, type approval authorities and technical services.

*Advise design and accessory staff on legislative matters relating to design of complete Vehicles and components.

*Develop procedures for homologation activities.

*Participate in design working groups to create awareness and to disseminate homologation information and requirements.

*Prepare accurate budgets for testing and related activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

*The successful candidate will ideally be educated to minimum HND level in an engineering or automotive subject

*Knowledge of, and experience in the type approval of an L, M, N or T category vehicle for the European Union or another major vehicle market such as the US, Japan or Australia

*An ability to work to a high level of accuracy and detail in written work.

*An ability to work under pressure and to fixed deadlines, making critical decisions to bring about on-time delivery of projects.

*Flexibility and willingness to travel overseas to conduct test programs.
