Senior Construction Manager required for a long term freelance contract based on RAF Marham, Norfolk. Rates are in the region of GBP250.00 to 300.00 per day but are negotiable depending on experience.


You will be reporting into a Project Manager and be responsible for a large Site Management team, you will be required to do the following:

* To direct the necessary labour, plant, staff and equipment to achieve project completion on time, to specification and within budget.
* Liaising with the Buying team and Surveying departments to order the correct materials and sub-contract services.
* Manage site management teams by monitoring performance against contract targets and instigating any necessary corrective actions.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
* Ensure that staff and operatives are managed and led effectively by developing the skills and attitudes of managers leading to provision of a working environment that engenders high morale.

Our client:

A national, large sized main contractor with a turnover of GBP200 million.

The Project:

The Scheme comprises a GBP135 million to upgrade infrastructure and facilities at RAF Marham near Kings Lynn in Norfolk for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.

Experience and Qualifications:

* Applicants must have experience of working on design and build projects, for a main contractor, as well as in the management of H & S, and the design and procurement processes.
* Applicants must have experience of managing all aspects of the build process; the applicant will be required to coordinate the packages from the design and procurement phase through to installation on site and handover.
* Trade experience and site experience preferable


* CSCS Card at Site Manager level
* Valid SMSTS certificate
* Valid First Aid at Work certificate
* Disclosure Scotland (DBS) - Desirable
