My Client are a an 8000 strong international organisation who are responsible for supply and design for bespoke automated manufacturing engineering facilities. In the UK, they employ circa 130 people and have been growing for the last few years as a result of increased continuous workload.

They are responsible for whole solution for the design, specification, installation and commissioning for their projects which could include new, ground up projects or upgrades to existing facilities.

As a result of this growth, they are looking to take on a Project Manager to join their team working on the technical delivery of Control Systems projects for their clients.

You will be responsible for the following activities:

* Responsibility for completion of Projects within budget, on time and to an acceptable quality
* Provide electrical engineering expertise for proposals
* Establish key customer contacts.
* Validate project estimate and update as necessary to provide basis for cost control.
* Ensure milestone target dates are met
* Be responsible for cost control forecasts and reports.
* Manage claims to and from the customer and suppliers
* Chair regular project meetings with client and Project Team and issue relevant minutes
* Prepare and control timing programme for electrical engineering activities
* Organise and document design reviews
* Prepare purchase requisitions for material and sub-contract packages
* Carry out plant operation and maintenance risk assessments
* Be responsible for the approval of all purchases
* Produce electrical specification.
* Prepare functional design specifications
* Prepare and control timing programme for electrical engineering activities.
* Review, check and approve sub-contractor drawings.
* Determine risk category for the safety related control system.
* Participate in electrical function testing and commissioning of electrical control systems.
* Generate and implement bench test specifications for all software / hardware.
* Update drawing / document register.
* Issue drawings / documentation to Project Manager for inclusion in the operating and maintenance manuals.
* Ensure all documents contain the correct date and issue number/status
* Carry out the role of Electrical Site Supervisor as required

You will be a self starter who is able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team. You will have experience of cost control, project management and application of PLC and SCADA systems. You will be required to integrate with senior management and engineering teams so ability to communicate across various levels is key.

You will have experience of:

* Electrical engineering hardware for robotic or process equipment
* Electrical engineering software for robotic or process equipment - a detailed understanding only, not writing code
* Electrical installation knowledge for robotic or process equipment - cable planning and measurements
* Electrical project management of a robotic or process equipment integration project including internal engineering liaison, client liaison, sub-contractor liaison, timing and cost control.
