The purpose of this role is to deliver specialist support to the safety attribute delivery, focusing on occupant injury assessment, and maintaining and developing state of the art safety performance in Aston Martin's product line up.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
• Bring and maintain a contemporary international competency in safety CAE (interiors, trim modelling, restraints and occupant injury assessment)
• Integrate future passive safety occupant simulation requirements into the long-range product plan
• Responsible for the maintenance and development of passive safety physical tools and techniques deployed
• on all new vehicles
• Responsible for the CAE based development of passive safety performance on engineering projects
• Utilise and manage correlation activities using internal and external testing.
• Establish a reporting framework for safety simulation supporting AML Mission engineering process
• Represent this company in the international forum of passive safety modelling
• Help develop and refine safety subsystem target definition, cascade and balancing
• Support pre-concept work and archetype development on production models

Qualifications & Experience
• Good Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) minimum 2.1
• Masters or PhD in Mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
• Excellent knowledge of Safety related regulations and test procedures
• Extensive experience in Passive Safety development
• Proven track record of achievement within Passive Safety development and delivery
• Extensive experience of using LS-Dyna for occupant restraints / interior trim development
• Intuitive knowledge of fundamental Mechanical engineering theory
• Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of MS word/Excel etc
• Excellent problem solving abilities
• Full UK Drivers Licence and flexibility to travel in UK and overseas
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels of organisation
• Self-starting and self-motivated
• Excellent organisational skills
• Able to learn quickly and integrate into a successful and dynamic team
• Excellent Attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure
