Role Overview:
• Consulting on issues related to all workplace relations and performance management
• Providing advice and assistance on policies, procedures, legislation, and union agreements
• Advising managers on recruitment and selection strategies
• Coordinating the appointment process for successful applicants
• Conducting job evaluations
• Negotiating terms and conditions of employment with staff and unions
• Providing advice and playing a key role in work reviews and change processes
• Updating and maintaining the HR data systems ensuring accuracy at all times
• Write and present information briefings on a range of HR related topics
• Collating training needs information and planning suitable training courses within set budgets
• Advising managers on succession planning and staff development
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems, policies and practices
• Management of relationship with recruitment agencies to ensure excellent service
• Develop and facilitate initiatives to improve morale, increase wellbeing and foster a team culture
• Engage in employee welfare activities such as Good2Great Committee, C&C Teams, ReelNews
• Main point of contact for monthly Occupational Health Clinic
• Participate in/ lead HR projects as required
• Deputise for HR Director as required

Candidate Profile:

• Degree qualified or equivalent experience
• CIPD qualified with evidence of continuing professional development
• Experience at HR Advisor level
• Experience of trade union relationships
• Experience of managing operational HR and ER matters
• In-depth employment law knowledge
• Knowledge of relevant and current HR policies and procedures
• Experience in interpreting, advising and implementing such policies and procedures
• Ability to use a HR information system including, accessing, inputting, and compiling data
• The verbal communication skills to communicate with a diverse client group
• The written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports
• The ability to research, analyse and reason logically within tight and conflicting timeframes
• Experience in leading and working effectively in teams
• Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative
• Experience in supervising staff and assuming responsibility for workload allocation
• Ability to identify development needs
• A commitment to providing customer service
• Ability to write and present information
• Experience in providing advice and support to senior managers on strategic matters
• Experience in leading projects and implementing new initiatives
• You live in either, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Leicester, Nuneaton, Hinckley, West Bromwich, Walsall, Sutton Coldfield or Solihull.
