Shift Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

12 months initial contract with extension

£20-£26 an hour

3 shift pattern, 10pm-6am/2pm-10pm/6am-2pm Mon-Fri

PAYE and LTD company contracts both available

The Company

My client is a successful global innovation company with a vast range of manufactured products across various industries. Products manufactured in the UK include coated abrasives, personal safety equipment, adhesive tapes, industrial microbiology products, drug delivery systems and high-performance coatings. At this site in Atherstone, they produce coated abrasives and automotive aftercare related products.

The Job

As a shift plant engineering technician you will be required to carry out mechanical maintenance and repair, both planned and corrective maintenance, on all automatic assembly machines and processes, ensuring maximum operational effectiveness.

Demonstrating a proactive and dynamic approach to health, safety and environmental situations, with the ability to trouble shoot and identify root cause on complex processes and automated equipment you will demonstrated a keen desire to improve standards, equipment and to minimise downtime and repeating issues.

About You

To apply for this role you should have one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Mechanical engineering apprenticeship
  • NVQ 2 & 3 or relevant C&Gs qualifications in electrical field
  • HNC in Mechanical discipline
  • Ideally multi-skilled qualification: ONC or C&G / NVQs

With additional demonstrable experience of:

  • Hydraulic Systems
  • Pneumatic control systems
  • Control and Automation - drives & tension control systems, complex automated systems (flow/temperature/pressure)
  • Machine automation, Laser cutting technologies & robotics
  • Relevant industrial experience (excluding apprenticeship)
  • Familiar with computerised maintenance management system
