Finance & Business Services is at the heart of making our processes run efficiently and drive business performance. We work through 1,000 full time staff with a number of on and offshore teams. The role of the Communications Manager is to provide strategic and tactical employee communication consultancy, and delivery of programmes to support members of the F&BS Exec, Finance leadership team and senior managers in Finance in delivering their objectives and key messages.

Key Accountabilities

- To provide strategic and tactical employee communication consultancy, advice, support & resources to members of the Finance & Business Services Exec and Finance leadership team to support them in delivering their objectives and key messages - that support our ambition to engage employees to create a high performance culture
- Work directly with the senior managers in Finance to understand and advise them on their employee comms requirements and priorities and develop appropriate plans for them, taking the necessary steps to make sure that meaningful contact and involvement takes place at the appropriate level.
- Develop, maintain and implement rolling annual employee comms plans for Finance segmented by function / team, audience & activity - in the context of line of sight and the corporate brand strategy.
- Collaborate with UK embedded and Corporate communicators and UK employee communications personnel, to align the corporate employee communication agenda with the UK and US businesses, ensuring that corporate messaging is made relevant.

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know How

- Bachelor's Degree with in-depth experience within business communication management
- Proven ability to develop and implement employee communication plans and campaigns and to direct and manage others in doing so.
- Significant business experience in networked blue-chip organisations with large field-forces focusing on employee communication, strategy deployment and change management
- Expertise, knowledge and experience in copywriting, editing, print, video and web production for business communication.
- Knowledge and experience of emergency/crisis management procedures
- In-depth, demonstrable knowledge and experience of all aspects of the internal communication mix, including research and measurement.
- Experience of project management and change management skills and knowledge
- Able to translate complex safety, financial and performance messages for internal, field-based audiences

- Creative and innovative and demonstrates the ability to adapt the content and style of communication messages to appeal to their audience with the right messages in order to influence and generate needed business results, based on an understanding of a particular function or group.
- Inspirational and influential leadership skills - both for direct report and peers / virtual teams - and able to work effectively as part of a team, and build and maintain strong working relationships with others at all levelsExcellent interpersonal skills (including negotiation and influencing skills) and demonstrable high standards of literacy
