The role:
A major rail contractor seek a Project Manager to deliver a Ecology Mitigation Programme (EMP). The Project Manager will have day-to-day management responsibility for the EMP, from designing and programming works to ensuring delivery on the ground. The Project Manager will have internal responsibilities but will also need to engage closely with external stakeholders.

Position Overview:

- Own the scope of work for the development of design and delivery of the Advanced Environmental mitigation across the project
- Ensure the scope of work is defined adequately by the engineering, design or environmental teams
- Ensure a plan is in place for methodology and sequencing of the site work with provision of sufficient competent resources/sub-contractors for overall delivery
- Management of the procurement process to ensure the survey work is procured on time and delivers value for money
- Ensure the appropriate work package plans and task briefs are prepared, including those by the sub-contractors, and they are submitted and approved before the work starts
- Creation and maintenance of programs to meet project requirements, including sub contractor programs
- Facilitate and chair kick off and regular sub contract progress meetings
- Undertake regular site visits and meeting to monitor production on site and support the HS&E team with safety inspections and audits
- Weekly meetings within the operating model and prepare Level 3 reports on a periodic basis
- Arrange, and deliver where required, inductions of all site staff
- Delivery of scope to meet committed programs
- Commercial management of the sub-contractors including preparation of estimates, management of budgets and review and payment of invoices, with the support of the procurement, estimating and commercial teams
- Ensure the appropriate pre-start information is provided by the sub-contractor prior to the commencement of work
- Identification and address blockages to progress
- Resolve emerging scope issues and technical queries within agreed timescales
- Communicating and supporting targets for safety, time, quality, responsible procurement, sustainable delivery and supporting collaborative behaviour's at all levels
- Addressing interface issues between adjacent contracts and assisting with stakeholder issues associated with the work
- Ensure the technical solutions and temporary works adopted are safe and effective
- Ensure the site work is delivered safely, to the required quality to time and budget
- Responsible for the quality and health, safety and environmental performance, with the support of the engineering, design and environmental teams
- Promote and maintain stakeholder, supplier and subcontractor working relationships
- Ensure all site staff are fully aware of their duties and responsibilities

In addition to the above role the management of the Property Service Contract would be included in the role. This requires the contract management to facilitate gaining access to private 3rd party land, land negotiations and Liaison with survey teams requiring site access.
