Smart Works is a UK charity that dresses and trains unemployed women for their job interview. With offices across the country, Smart Works Birmingham launched in August 2016. Smart Works helps women to feel confident, look fabulous, succeed at their job interview and move on with their life.

This year we will dress more than 3,000 women in a complete outfit of stylish, high quality clothes donated by retailers and professionals. A visit to Smart Works can change the course of a woman's life.

Women come to us when they have a confirmed job interview. We give them a complete outfit of clothes and accessories (personally styled for them and theirs to keep) and interview coaching, so they feel more confident and start believing in their own ability to succeed. All of the Smart Works service delivery is done by our team of highly skilled, fully trained volunteers and all our stock is donated from other working women or comes direct from retailers.

The two hours our clients spend with us can be transformative with one in two of the women we help going on to be successful at interview.

What we are looking for:
Volunteers play a front line and pivotal role in delivering our exceptional, transformative service and we recruit the highest calibre of volunteers who can encourage, motivate and empower our clients.

We are looking for Volunteer Interview Coaches - women who have HR, recruitment or senior management experience - to support our clients in one-to-one coaching sessions prior their interviews.

Volunteer Interview Coaches prepare clients for interview by focussing on their skills, confidence and their presentation. They help our clients to understand what's expected of them at interview and give guidance and feedback on answers to interview questions.

To be successful at this role you will need to:

- Have a background in HR, recruitment or business (including recruitment experience)
- Have a passion for empowering women
- Have a passion for supporting women back into the workplace
- Have excellent people skills
- Be adaptable
- Be non-judgemental

The minimum commitment is one day per month.

If you would be interested in volunteering with Smart Works then please send a copy of your CV and covering letter to Joanne Penn-Crossland (*****************************). We will invite applicants who we feel are a good fit for this opportunity to visit Smart Works Birmingham for an informal interview. All applicants must be 18 years of age or above.

Successful volunteers will be required to have a DBS check before working with us. Training will be provided.
