Chef Manager- Kent

Servest are currently looking for a Chef Manager to be based in a staff restaurant, within a business and industry site in Stoke on Trent (ST4) . As Chef Manager you will be in charge of the smooth running of the unit and leading a small catering team and daily cooking. You will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and facilities to include all aspects of Health and Safety. The unit offers a breakfast and lunch service. You will need to be happy to get stuck in and work over all aspects including serving customers, cash handling and cleaning of the unit as this is a small team of around 3.

Day to day the role involves you cooking and managing the site with the support of a small team of catering assistants. The unit is also open on a Saturday and Sunday morning with separate weekend staff. You will also be involved in cash handling, costing's and finances, audits, ordering and client meetings. We are looking for manager who can plan, organise and monitor the controls on food quality, presentation and service. You will be used to using fresh ingredient to create dishes and the role will also involve you preparing menus and developing recipes.

As the Chef Manager you will report into the Group Operations/ Area Manager. We are looking for candidates with a background of Chef Management within a Business and Industry site- ideally from a unit that offers quality home baked food with a retail twist. The role is predominantly Monday - Friday 6am- 3pm however some flexibility will be needed to cover the needs of the business- including some mornings at weekends

As Chef Manager you will need to have the following:

  • A background as a Chef Manager within Business and Industry Catering unit
  • Quality cooking standards using fresh seasonal ingredients whilst being conscious of the set budgets
  • The ability to lead by example
  • A strong craft background (706 1 & 2 or equivalent needed) with Superb customer service skills
  • Financial awareness with the ability to manage budgetary lines
  • Cash handling experience would be advantageous

Due to the location and shift times having your own transport would be advantageous- Free Parking is available onsite
