Restraint Trained 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Seeking a confident calm Teaching Assistant to support Autism with challenging behaviour.

Hays Education are currently working with a Worcestershire Special school that supports individuals with Complex Needs, Physical Disabilities, Severe and Moderate Learning Difficulties. The school supports Primary and secondary aged pupils with additional Needs, is well resourced and have a strong team ethos.
Your new role
Are you someone who enjoys the reward of working in the personalised learning dynamic that SEN brings. In this job you will be working with a year 10 male pupil with Autism and challenging behaviour, who requires 2:1 support. The job will see you working in class, individually supporting on curriculum delivery, contribute to logs, reports an. The ability to support de-escalate challenging behaviour is essential. Experience of working with pupils on P-Levels or complex Autism is a must as is the ability to use PECS and/ or Makaton. This job is a long term full time role but there will also be 1:1 day to day opportunities
What you'll need to succeed
To be a suitable consideration for this job you will have recent or significant experience of working with individuals with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) Autism (ASD) and complex needs (SLD or PMLD). Ideally you will have a NVQ in childcare or social care , and have supported additional needs within an Education or care setting. Team Teach training or restraint training is essential. Previous experience of working with personalised learning plans and work stations would be beneficial. You will be patient warm and friendly in your approach.
