Mid-Senior Level: GBP22,000-GBP26,000pa (depending on experience)

Green Shoots Recruitment Ltd has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Packaging Designer/Artworker to join a small & friendly In-house Design Team. The role is a maternity cover, with a 12 month contract available and the possibility of extending to a full time position after the 12 months, due to business growth. They are leading experts globally, supplying to the majority of leading retailers and distributors in the UK & Europe.

Ideally they are looking for someone with at least 4 years experience in a similar Mid-Senior role. The successful candidate will be working under the guidance of a Senior Designer and also alongside a Junior Designer and a Product Designer.

The Packaging Designer Artworker role is approximately split in the following way: 1/3 Packaging Artwork, with around 1/3 Branding, Product Design & Product Specs and 1/3 Customer Presentations. You will need to love the detail and accuracy of artworking to create eye catching designs & neat layouts for Packaging Ranges. There will be opportunities to show your creative flare with involvement in branding and product design. This would include tasks such a researching trends in the market, working on designs for new brands and product ranges and also creating presentations to show ideas to Customers.

As well as having sound knowledge of Illustrator to enable you to complete tasks such as packaging artwork, branding and product spec sheets, photoshop is also essential for creating packaging backgrounds, editing elements such as images/textures and also laying up product visuals ready for presentations. Good skills in InDesign would be needed for setting up customer presentations and brochures. Photography skills would also be an advantage, but not essential.

The candidate must be efficient, organised and able to work accurately to tight deadlines at busy periods of the year; attention to detail is a must. You should be happy to work alongside other team members on large projects, but also confident to work alone when required and support the Senior Designer with workload and guiding the Junior Designer when needed.
