You must be a resilient Science graduate who has achieved a 2:1 or above in your degree and a good understanding of how to work with children based on experience gained from a similar role. You will have the ability to clearly and coherently explain lessons so that even the lower level students will find them understandable. The perfect candidate for this Teaching Assistant role will be able to show the leadership team that them have an innate desire to be the best teacher that they can possibly be.
In this Science Teaching Assistant role you will be assigned to the schools science department where you will be working with year 11 students who are preparing for their GCSE's in the summer. Day-to-day, your duties will include developing your future teaching acumen by eventually taking whole class responsibility where appropriate. You will gain a full understanding of the challenges and rewards of being a teacher through taking on multiple duties in this flexible, constantly changing post.
