Job description

We have over 8,500 seafreight specialists throughout the world ready to find the right solution for our customers. We aim to provide high quality services and meet customer requirements, regardless of the size their business, or their location.

To work within our Customers operational team at Milton Keynes, managing off dock container storage and onward transport from UK port of arrival to Distribution Centre.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

* Working with key stakeholders to ensure on time delivery of containers as per DC intake plan
* Ensure the maintenance of high standards of customer care, i.e. ensuring that Bunnings are serviced professionally, ensuring local Standard Operational Procedures (SOP's) are adhered to
* Recognise and resolve day-to-day operational problems in conjunction with suppliers and KN Minworth
* Agreeing with Customer and DC's inbound container delivery plan
* System administration work for booking containers into our in-house booking system SAP according to agreed schedule
* Management of 3rd Party service providers
* Engagement and development of relationships with key stack holder
* Live update of internal and external operational systems
* Proactive communication of any operational issues
* Liaising with DC's to identify status of containers dropped on site
* Communicating with off dock storage locations to ensure containers are made available for onward delivery
* Managing drop and swap operation, prioritising the return of empty containers to nominated carriers
* Operate a continuous improvement policy to ensure the bar on performance is raised across the various initiatives we are involved in
* Creating periodic KPI Reports
* Ensure that all Quality, Health, Safety and Environment directives are followed
* Promote Kuehne + Nagel's Principles
* Performing any other duties agreed with the Key Account manager and Supervisor, as and when necessary

Your skills and experience:

* Good industry knowledge of UK container transport operations
* Previous experience of working within transport planning operations
* Good understanding of UK geography
* Good knowledge of TOPS
* High level of PC literacy on MS Word/Excel, or similar
* Be motivated by delivering high levels of customer service with a positive can do attitude
* Ability to work within demanding time lines
* High degree of organisational, administrative and communication skills and the ability to work on own initiative
* Good team player with the ability to monitor and motivate yourself
