Our prestigious Automotive client based in multiple locations is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Process Quality Engineer to work within our Clients ever expanding Manufacturing and Engineering department on a full time basis.
The Project Control & Diagnosis Teams are divided into three sub teams, one designated to each of the three main vehicle architectures. This role is to collaborate as a Project Control Engineer in one of the teams ensuring high motivation and skill throughout to deliver the project throughput with precision and accuracy, using tests only where necessary and with defined objectives to define the resolver for the emerging issues identified in the Warranty Transformation Process. You'll be an experienced Engineer keen to work in a team of Engineers who are experts in Powertrain, Electric and Chassis. The team will work collaboratively and nimbly to meet the demanding tasks set of them. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Problem Solving analysis and Standard Problem Definition creation using Problem Solving Techniques which must define where the issue liability seat recommending a resolver for the quality issue based problem solving analyses findings
  • Conduct Manufacturing Process audits in client's Plants and Suppliers Plants - Projects may include: Process Analyses, Process Capability, Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Drawings & Specifications, FMEA, PFMEA and Control Plan
  • Participate in the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEA's (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Provide concise, complete and accurate documentation of inspection results relative to area of responsibility. In appropriate functional areas, this refers to supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval or product warrant submission
  • Collate and evaluate our client's and supplier's quality data to identify process improvement opportunities and process non-conformance's
  • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
  • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Measurement System Analysis , Lean, Six-Sigma, and Poka Yoke (Error Proofing)
  • Produce written reports and make presentations

  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), 8D Disciplines, 5 Why's and Pareto Analysis
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups of people and be able to function independently of direct supervision
  • Analytical skills

  • High level of IT literacy, especially Excel skills (data analyse using pivot tables)

  • Proven application of Green Belt Certified 6-Sigma methodology
  • Understanding /experience of some or all of PD PVT, PD Attributes, PD CoCs, Manufacturing, STA, Service and Marketing
  • Experience Required:
  • Experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience of our client's Product Development and Launch processes
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Minitab
  • Education Required:Degree in a technical discipline Additional Information:
