An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager within the medical devices industry. My client is a world-leader in medical diagnostics, specialising in the research, development and manufacture of innovative products focused on Multiple Myeloma, and other immune disorders. My client is expanding rapidly into new territories over the coming years, and is entering a recruitment drive to reflect that market growth. In this role, you will be based in the client's UK headquarters in state-of-the-art facilities, and your role will include:

- Ensure that projects are delivered on-time and within scope
- Communicate the project goals, milestones & deliverables to project teams
- Control of project plans for each NPD/other business projects as approved by the Ops Board
- Work with Project Managers and Project Leads to provide a professional project management service internally and externally to key stakeholders
- Monitor and report on progress of projects to all stakeholders
- Measure project performance and deliverables using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
- Collect and collate project information to allow successful project review (lessons learnt) at close of project
- Is the first point of contact for the project core team, clients and stakeholders for projects under their management

- Be involved with New Product Development (NPD)

Knowledge and Skills

Essential:

- Have worked to a timeline driven process
- Basic/Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office packages (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) or equivalent
- Good verbal/written communication skills - articulate and diplomatic manner
- Methodical, accurate and consistent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
- Able to build good relationships at all levels internally and externally
- Punctual and reliable
- Active listening
- Critical thinking
- Resilient to coping with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work under pressure

Desirable:

- Some experience working within a Biological Sciences or Clinical or R&D laboratory setting
- Knowledge of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) processes
- A relevant scientific degree or equivalent (Biology, biochemistry or immunology background)
- Coaching and Facilitation training
- Understand the principles of effective project management
- Have worked in a regulated environment
- Have a basic understanding of the diagnostic market
- Basic/Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project (or equivalent) and/or formal PM qualifications
