This role is new and as is a result of growth. We’re looking for an IT Service Design & Strategy Manager to co-ordinate the planning & delivery of the IT Maturity plan, which will also be designed and developed through consultation with all areas of IT.

There will be no project work as such, the purpose of this role would be to in part be to create and deliver Service Improvement Plans (SIPs). Initially, you will have one direct report but this will grow in time and you will also matrix manage people as and when you request it.

You will:

  • Be the primary point of contact for the IT Business Management function, ensuring wider plans / policies are implemented.
  • Have a huge amount of autonomy and authority as you will hold many different teams accountable for the delivery of their service with the main aim being to productivity.
  • Make sure C-level management are given objective insight into the performance of the IT Business Management function.
  • Represent the function in key governance forum and management committees
  • Create KPIs to track and manage the internal performance of these teams.
  • Be charged with designing policies / procedures and Risk / Control plans
  • Deal with cost control to make sure budget / resources are used to best value, including 3rd party resources, software licencesand industry research.

Ideal person:

A special emphasis is placed on the most important quality of the person in this role - this is that of an influencer; someone with gravitas, who will be able to garner support in a conducive way from all the people at various levels they will be working with, whether at C-Level management, direct reports or managers / teams that you will be holding to account.

You will be:

  • A senior IT Manager / Service Delivery Manager with experience on a Design & Strategy level with IT Service Delivery.
  • Will have done a similar role IT Service Design & Delivery in a dedicated capacity or as part of previous roles at different times.
  • Used to working, liaising and presenting to with C-level executives (CIO, CTO, etc)
  • Used to working in a large enterprise level business; ideally in a highly regulated environment – i.e. Pharma, Banking / finance, etc.
  • ITIL qualified
