Great Britain’s gambling industry is in a constant state of change, fuelled by shifting consumer behaviour and the rapid growth of technology. It’s high profile politically too, and the legislation controlling gambling is constantly under scrutiny. Within this uniquely challenging and evolving environment, The Gambling Commission’s role is to ensure that gambling is crime free, fair and open - and that children and vulnerable people are protected. Now they need you to play a key role in their future, driving the change needed to ensure that the Gambling Commission can meet the growing complexity of the market and their developing regulatory remit.
The Gambling Commission are now seeking a Data Analyst to support their Data and Risk Programme, which provides accessible and authoritative data to underpin the regulation of gambling in Great Britain.
If you are a diligent data analyst seeking an exciting, new challenge, this is an incredible opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of a leading regulatory body.
As a Data Analyst, you will help to establish and maintain a best practice data management framework within the Commission and deliver high quality data analytics.
In this key role, you’ll collect, process, analyse, visualise and disseminate business-critical data, ensuring that it provides reliable and relevant insight on the gambling industry and consumers.
Supporting colleagues across the organisation, you’ll keep up-to-date with the latest advances in data management and data analytics and advise on how these could benefit the Commission.
Your work will be utilised by internal and external stakeholders and will build the Gambling Commission’s reputation as a risk-based, evidence-led and outcome-focused organisation.
To be considered, you will need experience as a data analyst. Experience of some, ideally all, of the following, is also essential:
- Microsoft Office 365 suite
- Customer relationships management software, such as Siebel
- Data analytics and visualisation software, such as Tableau or PowerBI
- SQL Server and database management and/or data warehouse software
Meticulous and pragmatic, as a Data Analyst, you will have superb interpersonal and communication skills. A highly organised approach is also key, as is the ability to effectively plan and prioritise your workload.
Expertise in ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) operations, data manipulation, data cleansing and data quality assurance would be beneficial. The ability to map data processes would also be an advantage.
