Staffline are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician to work with our client, a meat processor based in Ellesmere, Shropshire. The successful candidate will be accountable for raw material and efficient quality control.

Main Responsibilities of the role

Operational Control:

  • Ensure quality checks are carried out to agreed procedures and schedules.
  • Ensure primals are butchered to the agreed specification & communicated to the relevant personnel.
  • Attend meetings as and when required
  • Advise department management of any issues
  • Ensure the area is kept clean and tidy
  • Operate to all company policies
  • Team Building
  • To adhere to all installed HACCP procedures and monitor CCP’s where necessary
  • Ensure labels are correct clear and applied correctly
  • To adhere to the company Health & Safety policies
  • Enforce GMP and inform the line/department managers of issues. The QC has the power to stop the line in the evident of major quality issues
  • To carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested by your manager

Quality Assurance/Health and Safety:

  • To adhere to all installed HACCP procedures and monitor CCP’s where necessary
  • To adhere to current legislation with regards to safe food production
  • To monitor staff personal hygiene practices
  • To ensure that product meets individual customer requirements
  • To adhere to Company Health and Safety policies

The successful candidate should have a good understanding of the primal beef butchery skills, and have good communication skills.

This role is key to the client’s operation and so the successful candidate needs to be self-motivated and to be able to communicate with confidence to all levels of management.

The working hours for this role will be 5pm - 1am, Monday to Friday and the pay rate will be £8.88 per hour.
