A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales.

The main purpose of the role is to work in partnership with other agencies in relation to 'missing persons in order to reduce risk and repeat episodes, especially by individuals or at locations that are 'high risk.

Main Responsibilities:
To analyse intelligence captured on COMPACT to assist in developing problem profiles of missing persons and premises with volume or repeat runaways and identify links to possible exploitation and other areas of risk.

To work together with relevant partner agencies regarding missing episodes as appropriate within partnership reduction plans and activity

To provide advice and guidance to teams within the organisation on the compliance of Missing Persons Standard Operating Procedures and locally agreed protocols

To monitor and report on Performance Indicators as required by the organisation

To assist Missing Person Investigations that may potentially be 'no body murder enquiries and at an early stage report to the MIU Lead, offering support to the investigation as required

Undertake audits on the accuracy and compliance of missing episode reporting on STORM / COMPACT ensuring quality of data held is accurate and MOPI compliant

Ensure compliance with Force policies, local protocols with other agencies and the National Doctrine.

To represent Warwickshire and West Mercia Police at National and Regional Forums.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

Experience/Skills:

Education to A level/ level 3 qualification.

Knowledge of statutory/ ACPO guidance, approved professional practice and local safeguarding procedures, emerging national trends and best practice relating to Missing Persons, Adult Safeguarding, Mental Ill Health, Child Protection and Abuse Investigation and Management of Police Information.

Proven experience of researching and assessing information and identifying risk.

Excellent investigative and decision making skills.

Competent in the use of basic IT applications such as email and word processing.

Able to enter information correctly using an appropriate computer system and retrieve and present information in a suitable format.

The ability to communicate in writing and verbally giving clear guidance and direction.

Ability to interrogateand analyse information to solve problems.
