The Field Sales Engineer is responsible for managing the creation of new business and existing business demand across the Midlands area for one of the UK’s most innovative Refrigeration and Industrial Wholesale operations (HVACR).


Reporting to the Head of Contractor Sales:

  • Meet and exceed the territory budget and monthly business metric targets for visits, quotations, orders and sales (Midlands area target of c.£700k FY17);
  • Acquire and keep up-dated a thorough knowledge of all the Company’s products and a general understanding of their applications;
  • Act as the first point of technical contact for customers promoting the best solution and package to meet the customers’ needs from the complete company product portfolio;
  • Respect the confidential nature of the product, customer and commercial information to which you have access;
  • Prepare and generate product line quotations meeting company pricing guidelines and customers’ logistic needs;
  • Provide accurate rolling sales and product demand forecasts;
  • Maintain a minimum of 3-4 calls per day 4 days per week.

    The Company is a leading supplier of component parts, spares and applications to OEM manufacturers and aftermarket contractors/installers in the refrigeration, air conditioning and industrial markets (HVACR).


  • Credible background in a field sales environment, ideally with a technical refrigeration background;
  • Experience in the HVACR (Refrigeration parts and Air Conditioning system experience) market – selling to Contractors and Installers (or potentially from a Contractor/Installer business);
  • Experience preferably in handling multiple tier customers;
  • Ability to demonstrate true value creation;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a ‘can do’ philosophy;
  • Cool head under pressure maintaining the ability to prioritise, organise, and plan your activity to achieve results;
  • Ability to communicate at all levels including suppliers;
  • Driven, with good general sales process knowledge and the ability to start from Cold;
  • Eagerness to succeed in a competitive environment;
  • Natural business developer and order/project closer;
  • Territory: postcodes B, CV, DE, DN, DY, LE, LN, NG, NN, S, WS, WV.

  • Circa £35,000+ basic salary (depending on experience), plus £5,000 OTC bonus;
