Opportunity: Celesio UK, a pioneering provider of integrated healthcare services, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join our Tenders Centre of Excellence, supporting of our Speciality business. Our Speciality function is a key growth area for our organisation, the vision for this team is to ‘shape the future of pharmacy, providing choice, value and personalised healthcare, where and when you need it’. This is integrated healthcare focusing on selected patient pathways to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and customers. It will be achieved through the delivery of healthcare services aligned with our distribution and pharmacy expertise.

Role: Based at our Support Centre in Coventry, this role will report directly to the Head of Speciality Support and will be responsible for continually developing, delivering and managing a high performing bids and tender team that reflects evidence based best practice and is recognised (internally and externally) as a Centre of Excellence. Your team, working with key stakeholder from the wider Celesio business, will deliver consistently high quality, compelling, potent, competitively discriminated compliant tenders. Our win rate, and achievement of wider objectives, will underpin the Speciality function business growth plan for 2020.

This will include:

Full active management and development of 3 Bid Managers to achieve and exceed current year business win targets and other longer-term defined business objectivesDevelop, deliver and manage a strategy for a long-term bids and tenders Centre of ExcellentDeliver bids and tender strategies that have the patient at the centre of our business. As a healthcare provider this is a key differentiator and driver for achieving our business growth plansAccountable for the quality and compliance of all bids submitted as a proxy marker for successful outcomesDevelop and deliver individual strategies to actively select and win bids, working with multiple bid teams across the Celesio business sectorsDevelop and deliver a strategy for the robust re-use of material (knowledge bank) that will ensure the delivery of high quality bids, and streamline the bid process, driving efficient ways of working whilst delivering the key business objectivesDevelop and embed a strategy and process for continuous improvement, learning from all interactions and activities, to drive up quality and business win ratesOwn, manage and deliver individual bids and tenders, as workload demands, working as part of the wider Bid Manager team. This will include assembling a bid team with the relevant knowledge required to prepare a winning bid, whilst taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process, including introduction and implementation of all necessary bid procedures, governance and process.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team in a large innovative business where future development and progression is actively encouraged.

Person: It is essential you are educated to degree level with a detailed knowledge of UK public sector procurement regulations (Public Contracts Regulations 2015) and their application to a healthcare business. You will have relevant service sector experience and knowledge (e.g. Life Sciences, Healthcare [NHS & Private], Pharmaceutical Manufacturer and Pharmaceutical Supply Chain) and extensive knowledge of best practice bid procedures, governance and end-to-end bid process combined with financial and budget experience.

You will have a proven capability and record in delivering winning tenders for large and/or complex service opportunities.

A leader with strong people management and development skills, you will also be a cross functional team player with excellent influencing, networking and relationship building skills, comfortable working at Director and Senior Management level (both internal and external).

Location: This role is based at our Support Centre in Coventry, Walsgrave Triangle, CV2 2TX. We are located just off junction 2 of the M6, easily accessible by car. If using public transport, we are 5.5 miles from Coventry train station, approx. 40 minutes by bus from the station.
