A Graduate Electrical Engineer is sought by a global diversified technology and industrial leader serving customers in more than 150 countries.

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, your skills will be trained and developed over 18-24 months by performing the following day to day duties:

  • Supervise all electrical works and ensure compliance with relevant standards
  • Project manage and ensure the smooth introduction of automated equipment
  • Responsible for all PLC systems on site (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
  • Responsible for SCADA systems on site (Fix Dmacs, Wonderware)
  • Responsible for automated and robotic control systems and service contracts
  • Train and coach staff in controls and electrical issues
  • Supervise the maintenance and verification of the control systems
  • Management of subcontractors
  • Provide technical knowledge for modifications to planned maintenance system
  • Provide software backup schedule for all shop floor and robot systems
  • Drive plant improvements through innovation and automation
  • Focus on key availability issues that require technical solutions
  • Support the Maintenance Department with technical issues as and when required
  • Attend and participate in communication activities and/or teamwork, for example, team briefs, quality briefs, quarterly presentations and Kaizen workshops
  • Contribute to developing Departmental objectives
  • Ensure high standards of good housekeeping

The successful degree-qualified Graduate Electrical Engineer will demonstrate:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Electricity at Work regulations
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Installation Standards BS 7671
  • Working knowledge of industrial installations
  • Understanding of flammable atmosphere installations ATEX
  • Ability to read drawings and fault find control equipment
  • Knowledge of safety systems
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems
  • Knowledge of motors, encoders and electronic speed control
  • Experience of Robot control
  • Experience of supervisory control
  • Network configuration
  • Software design, development and testing
  • Project management skills
