Senior Software Engineer - Electric Vehicles - Nuneaton - to £53k

This is a great opportunity for a Software Engineer with advanced Matlab/Simulink skills to join a global provider of pioneering engineering, research and test services. It works in close collaboration with vehicle manufacturers and suppliers around the world, providing comprehensive support ranging from individual product tests to turnkey engineering design, development and build programmes

The main purpose of the Software Engineer job is to produce advanced software simulation and modelling of electric vehicle propulsion systems, including hybrid control and battery management (BMS) strategies.

Other key elements of this Software Engineer job:

  • Develop complex BMS and xEV control strategies
  • Support the generation of system and sub-system component requirements
  • Support the generation of system and software level requirements
  • Size and simulate xEV drivetrains for proposals
  • Automotive strategy development through prototype modelling utilising MatLab/Simulink
  • Produce documentation to a high standard

Candidate requirements for this Software Engineer job:

  • Degree qualified in electronic, systems, automotive engineering or applied mathematics
  • Possess advanced Matlab/Simulink skills
  • Able to demonstrate experience in working to full software full software V-cycle
  • An appreciation of Functional Safety
  • In depth knowledge of some elements of electric or hybrid vehicle powertrains
