Our client is a dual UK site development and manufacturing company within the niche technology area of Lasers / Fibre Optics who are looking to grow their Service / Support Engineering team by recruiting a permanent Technical Support Engineer.
The Technical Support Engineer will act as the key technical intermediary between the customer and the company and will be required to have detailed technical knowledge of the companies product portfolio.
As the Technical Support Engineer you will be responsible for offering support (telephone, email and/or on-site) in event of a fault across Europe, the Americas and Asia including fault finding, field repairs and installation of product upgrades.
You will be flexible to travelling to customer sites across Europe, USA and Asia, travel may reach 40% and be at short as well as planned notice.
Experience- Demonstrate proven experience as a Field Service Engineer from an electronics based, high value capital equipment sector- At least 2+ years experience working in a Product Support team or Service & Repair role. - Experience in a customer-interfacing role.
Preferable- Previous experience with lasers, especially fiber lasers, including fault finding at a system level - Previous experience working with fibre optics.
Qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher in a related engineering/ physics discipline is preferable.
