Position: HE Lecturer - Business Strategies
Location: The Custard Factory, Birmingham
Job Type: Part Time, Fixed Term Contract
Hours: 3 per week over 15-weeks (12 weeks teaching, 3 weeks marking and moderating)
Salary: £24.47 - £26.74 per hour

About the role:

They would like to present this exciting opportunity to join and contribute to a dynamic team, delivering music business tuition on their 2-year accelerated degree course.

You will work closely with the Course Director and HE Development Manager in liaison with Birmingham City University, their validating partner, to ensure maintenance of academic standards, policies and procedures including curriculum and quality in accordance with the programme requirements.

An articulate communicator and teacher, you will be a music industry professional with a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Music Business, or a related subject. You will have experience at HE level (schemes of work, session plans, assessment) with previous teaching / lecturing experience.

The Business Strategies module aims to equip students with the theoretical knowledge and skills associated with strategy and decision-making in business.

Responsibilities:

- Delivery of degree module content
- Management of students and their learning
- Assessment and reporting of student achievement

About you:

- Qualified to degree level or equivalent
- Qualified teacher (or, currently studying at Level 4 or above)
- Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy
- Good ICT skills
- Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding issues relevant to the post
- Excellent teaching skills
- Ability to relate to diverse teaching groups
- Skills relevant for tutorial / pastoral support if required
- Understanding of equality and diversity within the curriculum, barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these
- Using data in business decisions
- Tools and techniques of business strategy Formulation and implementation of a strategy
- Relevant teaching qualification desirable
