A successful and growing international manufacturer of complex automotive components and assemblies is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support plant pressing and tooling issues. The organization is experiencing a rapid period of growth and investment and is capitalizing on the current expansion of global automotive sales.
Job Title: Engineering Manager
Salary: £50-60000 + benefits
Location: Shropshire

The overall purpose of the Engineering Manager is to drive the plant Maintenance & Engineering department to maximise equipment reliability and up time in order to support 100% on time delivery.
This will be achieved through the direct management of a team of Engineering Supervisors, Controls Engineers and indirect management of a multi disciplined maintenance team based on continuous shift patterns.
Reporting to the Plant Manager the individual will represent the Engineering & Maintenance in the senior management team.
The role requires a systematic approach aligned with strong people management skills
o To oversee the planning of the Engineering function for all maintenance/engineering projects including maintenance planning, CAPEX and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
o Proactively drive change towards a more proactive Maintenance function
o Identify and implement departmental re-structuring as required
o Identify and organise staff training requirements
o Produce and maintain Maintenance KPIs.
o Ensure a Maintenance Planning, TPM and SAP systems are fully utilised.
o Manage control documentation, risk assessments and method statements.

Person Specification:
The successful candidate will already be working in a similar Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager or Technical Manager capacity, and will be seeking a new challenge with a large global manufacturing group.
o Educated to a minimum HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Apprentice trained
o Ability to demonstrate improvements and contribution to the strategic planning of engineering and maintenance projects, avoiding downtime where possible
o Extensive staff management experience including development of skills matrix
o Experience of managing large capital projects.
o Knowledge of manufacturing process to include: presswork (hot or cold), welded assemblies, robots, PLC control systems/ automation.
o Clear evidence of having demonstrated creativity and success in seeking improvements in performance and operational methods.
