The Logistics Operations Manager role
Working closely with our 3rd Party Logistics Provider and a variety of Head Office functions, it will be down to you to ensure that service and cost requirements are met; and that commercial plans are delivered efficiently and reliably. Providing focus, you’ll ensure that operational standards are met and that best practice is shared throughout the network. We work to financial and service objectives; you’ll provide the analytical input to ensure these are met through operational reviews. When it comes BAU logistics issues you’ll be the go to person. Working to make improvements to the cross departmental linkages and supporting the creation and execution of the peak trading plan. Supporting the Development Managers in facilitating continuous improvement you’ll also contribute to the delivery of change and the development strategy. Alongside all of this you’ll contribute rigour to the financial review process to create a strong operational budget (£126Million). The skills you need as a Logistics Operations Manager
When it comes to logistics operations, you know your stuff. Ideally, you’ve worked as a Logistics Contract Manager, and have experience of managing a contracted-out Logistics operation. Your sound operational logistics knowledge will mean you have sufficient experience to support and challenge the 3PL. Working cross functionally, you’ll have experience leading collaboratively across different departments/business’ and know how to achieve the required outcomes without a direct reporting line. Analytical, you can effectively analyse and present data to identify trends, make decisions and support proposals. You’ve got a robust understanding of financial process’ having previously held budgetary responsibility whilst sustainably improving service and increasing value. Although based in Stafford, you will be expected to spend 1-2 days a week in our Yeovil Head Office.
