Seeking a versatile and caring Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with special Needs

Hays Education are currently working with an established setting in Sandwell that supports students with moderate learning difficulties. This Sandwell based setting is well resourced and has good facilities and pupil focussed approach to learning. They provide support to pupils across KS2 -KS5, who have a variety of Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Your new role
This is a long term, distinct job opportunity and this job role is working 1:1 with individuals with complex needs. In this role you will build a strong rapport and support a pupil with mobility restrictions and complex needs. This MALE pupil will need to be supported with aspects of personal care. The job role will involve supporting them during lunch time as well as lesson and will possibly involve liaising having a dialogue with pupil parents to give feedback and other health care professionals. The purpose of the job is to ensure participation in learning and pupil progress. On occasions you may be required to provide general class room support. The duration of this job should be at least up until October half term but is expected to last for the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for this role you should be a passionate, outcomes focussed person, with experience of working with children or young people or adults with Complex Needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs and/ or Autism. You will be a have a minimum of 40 days experience, in the last 2 years, of working in schools and/ or care settings, SLD, ASD or PMLD settings, which can be referenced. You will be passionate about working with children/ young people to achieve the best of their potential.
