Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assembly Maintenance Technician for a fast paced automotive manufacturing and production company based in the Cannock, West Midlands area.

Job Purpose of the Maintenance Technician:

Carryout fault finding activities and undertake timely repair of equipment in the following areas; Robotics, PLC's, Electrical Control Systems, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.

Undertake planned preventative maintenance activities on automated production facilities.

Programming, fault diagnosis, servicing and repair of motoman robots, rotary positioners and mig spot welding equipment.

Prepare technical reports to analyse breakdown causes and make recommendations on countermeasures.

Support equipment commissioning and installation projects.

Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices and observe safety rules at all times.

Principle Accountabilities of the Assembly Technician:

Fast response to plant stoppages, ensuring key process achieve maximum uptime.

Prioritising workloads, within the response/breakdown environment.

Carrying out routine maintenance, and renovating worn components.

Improvements to current equipment to achieve a faster cycle time, close QPRs, improve product flow.

Adherence to departmental systems and looking at analysed data to improve departmental efficiency which is governed by production OEE rates.

Technical Expertise Preferred for the Maintenance Technician:

City & Guilds 17th edition regulations.

Completed a recognised electrical or mechatronic apprenticeship.

HNC / ONC electrical qualifications preferred.

Reasonable level of mechanical aptitude including welding, fabrication and mechanical fitting.

IT literacy, applications such as, Word, Excel, AutoCAD.

Experience with PLC (programmable logic controllers) and HMI's (human machine interface).

Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Have experience in welding technology and if possible the maintenance of welding equipment.

Ability to work as part of a team or under own initiative.

Good communication skills.

Ability to coach others.
