Qualified Teaching Assistant
Seeking qualified teaching assistants with experience in supporting children with varying needs.
Your new job
As a day to day supply Teaching Assistant you will be required to work flexibly and have the confidence to work in a variety of schools. This role may involve ad hoc absence cover within schools and roles may involve working 1:1 supporting a child with SEN or as a general teaching assistant, depending on your experience.
Hays also offer long term positions within schools where you will be expected to act as a permanent member of staff of the duration of your time at the school. Dependent on experience this may be supporting a child with additional needs on a 1:1 basis, or supporting a class as a general teaching assistant which may involve small group work such as providing phonics interventions.
Your new role
You will be supporting children with a variety of needs including SEN, challenging behaviour and EAL. Your role will require you to offer guidance and assistance to all children within your care as well as offering specific, tailored support to those children needing additional help.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you must hold at least an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent as well as recent and relevant experience as an teaching assistant, either in a voluntary or paid capacity. You must have a passion for working with pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. You will need to have good time keeping and preparation skills, as well as the ability to represent yourself and Hays well.
