Business Development Manager

Home based but covering the Midlands and North of England

Up to £42k+ Car and strong package.


Job Overview

My client is a publisher and events company specialising in social care, health, emergency services, and language teaching. Their online portfolio includes both ecommerce and editorial sites.

The role will involve the creation of prospective clients for CareKnowledge along with the range of additional features that we are introducing. You will be working with local authorities, academic institutions and social care organisations.

You will be accountable for establishing new business opportunities, creating interest in your designated area, demonstrating CareKnowledge and closing the sale.

Job Function Tasks
• Creation of a prospective business list
• Follow up on marketing campaigns and leads through cold calling and
hot lead calling
• Qualify initial leads
• To work with the marketing team to produce campaigns to promote
CareKnowledge and generate leads
• To follow up sales leads including writing tenders and doing
presentations
• Producing proposals if required
• To account manage existing customers, and support with regular
analytics, meetings and training as required
• Build and maintain an appropriate depth of product knowledge and
also market knowledge including competitors
• Work with customer services as required to sort out customer queries
• Liaise with customers to keep subscribers lists up to date
• To have input into the future development of the CareKnowledge
product through market opinion and intelligence

Areas of Responsibility
• Achieving quarterly and annual targets
• To manage named customers through the whole life cycle from the
lead and the subsequent sale through to account management
• Update on a regular basis, account details in CRM
• Positive contribution and input to the team wide sales activities
including competitive information, common opportunities, possible
threats and case studies,

Essential Skills Qualifications
• Proven sales experience in a digital subscription role
• Track record of successful selling
• Ability to confidently present and engage your audience
• Negotiating and influencing skills
• Ability to build relationships, both internally and externally with
colleagues and customers at all level
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Able to discuss market requirements (or demonstrate an ability to
learn quickly)
• Good word and excel knowledge

Desirable Skills Qualifications
• Knowledge of the care sector
