Our client is a well established organisation that is looking for skilled HGV Mechanics/Technicians that can strengthen their growing Night Shift team as they continue to expand their operations; they are looking for technicians who they can invest in training and developing.

Duties include

  • Liasing with the Day/Late shift Teams providing suitable handovers of works carried out for the business. Reporting to the Workshop Manager the ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and be flexible and trustworthy

  • To maintain and service the Fleet of Commercial Vehicle, Heavy Goods Vehicles on behalf of the Company and the Customers in which they work within the Area whilst ensuring all aspects of work carried out on the vehicles are to VOSA standards. This will allow the customer to retain high standards of workmanship, value for money and customer care

  • Experience within component overhauls (Engine; Gearbox; Braking systems)

  • You will required to work on your own initiative and meet strict deadlines

  • Sourcing parts and monitoring stock levels

  • Health and safety of the workshop and staff

  • To Work on a shift rotation between 2100 to 06.30 hours Monday to Friday

  • You will receive full manufacturer’s training and have the opportunity to maximise your earnings through regular overtime

  • Automotive Electrical knowledge would be desirable

  • Safety inspections and preparation of vehicle for MOT and to complete all aspects of vehicle inspection documentation in line with group fleet compliance policy

  • Attending vehicle breakdowns and callouts on behalf of the client when required throughout the night

Experience;

  • The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience of service and repair work and maintenance on Heavy Goods and Commercial Vehicles(minimum 5 years post apprenticeship)

  • A Heavy Goods Driving licence would be preferred (minimum Class Two).

  • Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks

  • Experience in fault diagnostic equipment, e.g. Tech tool, STAR , DAVIE and JAL and including trailer systems

  • Essential that candidates applying for the role have minimum City & Guilds Level 3/NVQ Level Three Qualification (PLEASE NOTE - Applicants without this will not be considered for selection)
