Gym General Manager - Anytime Fitness Tamworth

With over 3,300 clubs globally, Anytime Fitness is the fastest growing 24-hour fitness chain across the globe with an exciting expansion programme across the UK. We are looking for an exceptional club General Manager to join our team.

We are looking to recruit someone with proven entrepreneurial flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy and determination to drive and grow the business. We're looking for a manager who enjoys having the freedom to take charge of all aspects of an operation. Instead of having a huge central operation, we prefer to empower our managers to manage the business.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Sales:

Dealing with initial prospective members' inquiries and visits to the club.
Develop membership referral schemes.
Provide ‘on the floor’ sales leadership and support.
Ensure that all sales staff conduct sales tours in the most appropriate and effective manner.
Accomplish agreed KPIs of number of prospects, completed calls, appointments booked, sales achieved daily per staff member.
Daily management of the membership system
Develop a corporate membership program aimed at local businesses and customer groups.

2) Member Retention:

Analyse membership statistics and trends and implement appropriate courses of action.
Develop a cultural and membership experience so that members are engaged and feel that they belong to a club rather than just a gym.

?3) Club Daily Operations:

Maintain the club to the highest of standards within a pre-agreed budget. This includes club maintenance, the management of contracted cleaners and ad-hoc staff cleaning.
Co-ordination of our class timetable ensuring instructor cover is in place and members are happy with the quality of classes delivered.
Put in place and manage our Retention Guidelines for membership debt collection procedures.
Maintaining adequate stock of club essentials, such as keyfobs, toiletries, vending supplies, merchandise etc.
Management of expected and unexpected staff absences.
Adherence of club H&S requirements.

4) Management, Training and Development:

Ensure the effective day-to-day leadership of the Sales Team.
Implement and document weekly 121s with team members.
Attend regular 121s as required with the Club Owner.
Develop skills of staff within the Sales Team and ensure they are trained and competent to effectively provide excellent customer service.
Coordinate activities of Personal Trainers to ensure successful growth of their business.

5) Marketing:

Ensure completion of a monthly marketing planner which supports the required sales target for the club within an agreed marketing budget.
Continued growth of our social media through management of our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
Complete and record competitor profiling and putting in place appropriate strategies.
Develop campaigns that are designed to profile target areas and groups, such as local business and high student populations.


Competitive base salary of £22,000-£24,000 depending on experience.
Target driven bonuses with a realistic OTE of £30,000, however the bonus structure is uncapped.
