Service Infrastructure Manager
We are currently looking to appoint a Service Infrastructure Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of all Service Infrastructure activities by directing the provision of operational services in 2nd and 3rd line support teams of Windows Server, Unix/DBA and Storage, Backup and Virtualised Server teams.
Engages with internal IT customer, business representatives and third party suppliers to ensure that services provided are in line with expectations, contracts and service levels, managing those relationships in line with the IT Strategy.
Provides the strategy, leadership, direction and guidance on Service Infrastructure governance and maintains activities in line with industry standards for these operations.Ensures all relevant application, server, and supporting infrastructure remain operational and deliver the agreed service to the business.
Monitors the compliance of the teams to ensure they operate with agreed standards and appropriate policies.
Ensures informed strategic decision making through accurate, consistent and timely management information, planning and reporting.
Helps ensure faster adoption, greater usage and higher proficiency of the changes impacting on service and operational management such that overall business results are achieved.
Ability to oversee the use of the following systems:
- Advanced Microsoft Server suite, Oracle, Linux, Storage solutions
- Incident management practices
- Society IT System and Services technology stack knowledge
Other essential information:
The Society runs IT Services 24x7 and this role requires a flexible approach and will need to be available at short notice to ensure service is maintained or recovered for Society members and staff.
