Our client, a well-known automotive organisation are looking for a Supplier Technical Assistance Engineer to join their team in Leamington Spa. This role will be continually developing and maintaining the organisation's quality management system, working across all departments and with suppliers on location to ensure quality standards are met.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Warranty/ Engineering/ Service/ Sales/ Warehousing and Packing personnel daily ref issues
  • To work closely with the Senior Quality Engineer to identify and visit suppliers in need of assistance with new product, product approval, and quality issue resolution
  • Complete supplier audits as appropriate, ensuring document control and IP protection
  • Seek engineering support for validation activities as required
  • Manage and report on supplier quality performance
  • Ensure supplier process control and appropriate understanding and action in relation to problem resolution activities (8D etc)
  • Ensure PRR/ OE requested 8D processes appropriately driven to completion in a timely fashion and supply is not compromised
  • Ensure supplier 8D are completed correctly, fully and with a robust permanent correct action
  • Liaise with other supplier Quality Development personnel where necessary
  • Attend other facilities as required to address Quality/ Warranty issues, especially if trends/ high value claims identified or as part of proactive quality initiatives
  • Provide training in PST/ quality functions as appropriate
  • Complete any appropriate reporting ref Supplier Corrective Action/ Warranty
  • Provide metrics regarding Supplier Product Corrective Action/ Warranty as required

Essential Requirements:

  • Good command of full suite of MS Office inc. Excel and Visio
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Full driving license and flexibility to attend supplier premises within the EMEA region required
  • Manufacturing/ Engineering Degree or relevant experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and use hand-held measuring equipment
  • Must be able to work autonomously, when required
  • Experience of using automotive industry recognized tool such as; APQP, PSW, Problem Solving Techniques e.g. 8D and also proactive tools such as FMEA
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Red Prairie an advantage
