Seeking an effective Teacher assistant to provide general support and work closely with the PE department.
Your new company
Hays is working with a Birmingham based Special School. This is a 'good' school that is well resourced and has a strong team Ethic. The school support pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). The school support Primary and Secondary aged pupils with additional needs.
Your new role
This job role will involve providing general curriculum supporting, in a small class groups across different years. Therefore this job requires someone who can take a lead role in sports sessions and will see you working closely with the PE department with the ability to plan and deliver for PE differentiate work to ensure all pupils access an engaging bespoke programme of learning. This is a full time TA job, due to start in September 17 and is expected to last for at least 1 term, with the likelihood the job will continue for the reminder of the academic year.
What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for this role you should be an experienced Teaching Assistant with a minimum of 6 months experience of working with children or young people with emotional behavioural and social difficulties (EBSD/ BESD/ EBD) and/ or Autism. You must have a minimum of 40 days experience of working in schools ideally (Primary), centres or provisions that support EBSD/ BESD/ EBD which can be referenced. You should have a level 2 or level 3 equivalent childcare qualification. You will be passionate about helping young people achieve the best of their potential, be thick skinned and have a good sense of humour, a team teach qualification or training in crisis prevention (PROACT SKIP/ MAPA/ TEACHH) is advantageous.
