Job purpose

We are seeking a Body shop Operative who has the following skill sets and accreditations;

  • Time served either at a Main dealer for Commercial Trucks or Plant Equipment or else at reputable Garage/s.
  • Has either City & Guilds or NVQ’s to appropriate levels or gaining the necessary skills throughout his career and can demonstrate them.


To carry out all activities related to polishing, prepping, smart repair & painting to the highest quality on all makes of models of Vans along with Commercial trucks and associated Plant equipments.

To carry out repairs and restore vehicles to safe working condition, the bodyshop operative must have detailed knowledge and understanding of vehicle structures & different materials on the vehicles.

They must also be familiar with the characteristics of the metal panels along with plastics and compounds used in vehicle construction.

Bodyshop operative must use knowledge and judgement to decide whether they can repair damage economically. In some cases, they may decide that a vehicle cannot be restored to a safe condition because of serious damage to critical structural components and will seek further advice if in doubt through the line manager structure.

Knowledge skills & experience

  • Comprehensive and proven experience working within a reputable bodyshop is essential;
  • IT literate (desirable).


  • NVQ or City & Guilds;
  • Specialising in Body repairs including Prepping the panels – panel beating & the use of 2PAC Paint systems.
