Due to rapid expansion, our West Midlands based charity has an immediate vacancy for a Temporary to Permanent full time Finance Assistant for our West Midlands region with the possibility of a permanent position for the successful candidate.

The ideal candidate will be looking for a challenging but rewarding career move into a well-established, national charity. You will be joining our small but busy team. The main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the transactions and reconciling ledgers and support the Financial Directors.

The duties of the Finance Assistant fall into four main categories : Payments & Expenditure / Sales Ledger / VAT & gift aid / Fixed assets & stock including :-

- To support the Financial Director and the Finance Manager
- Delivery of transaction processes and financial reporting
- Process and input of purchase order requests
- Reconciling statements
- Ensure the monthly reports meet all necessary deadlines
- Raise sales orders on a daily and weekly basis
- Manage credit card statements and transactions
- Prepare accruals and prepayments
- Raise sales ledger invoices
- Maintain a gift aid record
- Month end reports
- Process twice monthly payments runs
- Maintaining the fixed assets and the stock register

The successful Accounts Assistant will possess the following skills:-

- Background of working in a small office environment
- Excellent time keeping and self-management skills
- Part qualified
- Working knowledge of VAT and Gift Aid would be advantageous
