Our client is looking for an engaged, highly motivated and hands-on individual that is up for the challenge to join as Engineering Manager.

The Role

The role will encompass the strategic and operational organisation and management of the engineering dept., if you are a proactive person, results oriented, and have a 'can do' attitude this could be the role for you!

As Engineering Manager you will carry strategic and operational responsibility for implementing the engineering strategy and operational goals, maximising efficiency, and optimising and driving engineering excellence.
You will be responsible for all areas of the Engineering dept., striving for best in class business practices, managing the engineering team and projects across the business.
You will provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate the shift engineering and the preventative maintenance team to achieve excellence.
You will drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the engineering function to exceed budgeted 'up-time' targets, drive continuous improvement and deliver engineering projects on time and to cost.
You will be responsible for ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritised and actioned.


A strong engineering background
Experience working with a management team
Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification.
Demonstrable experience of leading an engineering function with a proven track record in strategic engineering leadership delivering effective engineering strategies, policies, processes and systems
Proven project management and supplier experience
Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level
Knowledge and technical understanding of manufacturing processes

Engineering mindset
Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
